Can I purchase tickets in person?

Tickets to most Festival events can be purchased in person by visiting the venue's box office. See individual event pages for venue contact details.

Can I choose where to sit?

Yes, most reserved seating events allow the option to choose your seats via interactive seating plans. During busy periods the seating plan may be disabled.

What is General Admission?

There are two types of General Admission events, Seated and Unseated.

Seated: Patrons are not allocated a specific seat for the event. If you arrive early to the show you can have your pick of the seats!

Unseated: Patrons will be standing for the duration of the performance.

Can I exchange my tickets?

Yes, but you are only able to exchange it to another performance of the same event. Any exchanges must be made at the original point of sale and may be subject to fees.

What happens if my tickets haven’t arrived in the post?

If you elected to have your tickets posted, they should arrive within 14 business days. After this time, if you have still not received your tickets, please contact us.

What happens if I lose my tickets?

If the event has reserved seating then a lost ticket pass can be issued to you, as we know where you were to be seated. If your tickets were for a General Admission performance, please note they cannot be replaced.

What happens if I am running late for a performance? Will they let me in? Do I get a refund on my ticket?

Being late affects performers and the rest of the audience. Some artists specifically ask that latecomers not be admitted. The Festival reserves the right to exclude latecomers to certain events or to admit them only during a suitable break in the performance. Check the time on the ticket and plan ahead. The Festival regrets it is not possible to refund a completed booking. And please don't take it out on the usher!

Am I eligible for concession?

Visit the concessions page for more information on concession types.

Why won’t the website allow me to purchase a ticket at the Under 30s price?

There is a limited allocation of Under 30s tickets available. If the Under 30s price is unavailable, then the allocation is exhausted.

Who is eligible for Under 30s tickets?

Why can’t I have my Under 30s tickets posted to me?

Tickets can only be collected at the box office, as proof of age must be shown.

Is the price listed on this website the price I'll actually pay for my tickets?

Yes, ticket prices listed in this program guide are what you can expect to pay and are inclusive of GST and credit card charges.

The only additional charge may be a booking or transaction fee, depending upon the ticketing agent and the method of purchase. Booking and transaction fees can be viewed here.

If a breakdown of the GST paid is required, a tax invoice can be requested for completed bookings from the ticketing agent they were sold through.

Why is there more than one price reserve on some events?

Where possible we offer a range of affordable ticket prices. If a Premium price is offered, this is for the absolute best seats available at the venue. We sometimes make available B and C Reserve tickets that are designed to make the performances more accessible. While you will still be able to enjoy the performance, you may find that the B and C Reserve tickets are further to the sides or towards the back of the venue and may be sight or sound restricted.

Is there any basic etiquette I need to be aware of?

You are not allowed to use mobile devices during performances. Using cameras or other recording devices is a breach of copyright and absolutely not allowed.

Is there a dress code at Festival performances?

Some audience members choose to reveal their fine fashions but we just want everyone to wear whatever it is that makes them comfortable.
